Hello, I’m Trudy

I am a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a Board Approved Supervisor, with over 15 years of clinical experience across inpatient, community, and private practice settings. My work has included senior clinical and leadership roles within Queensland Health, supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families.

I have extensive training in trauma and relational therapies, including EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, Psychodynamic concepts and Family Therapy frameworks. I have a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing the effects of complex trauma, including difficulties with anxiety, emotional regulation, and relationships. Much of my work has been with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma or emotional neglect, and who now find themselves feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns in relationships.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and able to make sense of your experiences at your own pace.

A Little More About My Approach

Many of the people I work with have faced complex trauma, often stemming from experiences of emotional neglect, such as not feeling seen or understood during childhood, or growing up in environments where their needs weren’t recognised or met. These early experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, how we connect with others, and how safe we feel in the world. In therapy, we can work together to understand these patterns, not by rushing to change them, but by gently exploring them with care and curiosity.

My approach is grounded in building a supportive therapeutic relationship, fostering trust, and working at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, feeling disconnected, struggling to feel secure in your relationships, or experiencing conflict within your family, we can work together to gently uncover what’s happening for you and why.

With care and patience, we’ll explore ways to nurture and develop greater self-understanding, compassion, and the capacity to build more secure, fulfilling relationships with yourself and others, so that you can move forward with a sense of empowerment and a deeper feeling of safety in the world.
